She began her career in education – all in Klein ISD –as head of the science department and then assistant principal at the secondary school level, before advancing to district administration in Student Data Services. There, she led the team for many years before taking on Information Technology. Vicki began using technology in her career in 1986 when she received a donated Apple 2e computer. From that humble but exciting beginning, she has incorporated technology throughout her 39-year career. Some of her key accomplishments at the district level include implementing two major student information systems as well as an ID management and data warehouse solution. She also manages a 1:1 program that deploys over 30,000 devices to students for use at school and home. Vicki’s newest project is the development of a GPS beacon system, which will guide students to their classes and visitors to the gym and theater areas in Klein’s newest high school, a 692,000ft2 building.
