Robert Hengst, P.E., received his Bachelor of Science degree in structural engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in forensic structural engineering and concrete design. He has published one textbook, “Concrete Watertight Structures and Hazardous Liquid Containment”. However, he built his career specializing in project management, especially troubled projects, which led to an increasing involvement with management of organizations and change management. His broad experience in education facilities, public works, design, and construction led him to work with the Austin Independent School District (AISD) as the Executive Director of Construction Management. Currently he manages a staff of approximately fifty who are executing a $500M bond, campus support projects, and the planning of future bond work. He lives in Austin, Texas, where he was raised and educated at AISD facilities.
