An accomplished crossover from the world of business and finance to education have resulted in a prosperous 28+ year career for Judith M. Garcia. She presently serves her community and district as the Curriculum Instructional Technology Director for United ISD in Laredo, Texas. Ms. Garcia possesses instructional experience in a myriad of Career and Technology areas at both middle and high school level in addition to 14 years in Instructional Technology. A true advocate for technology with the community's trust and support, the passing of a $408,000,000 bond in 2013 permits her to lead a training and service oriented department of 10 district level staff and 67 campus trainers. Under Garcia’s direction, the CIT Department is responsible for designing the transition plan that successfully orchestrated the implementation and training of over 6500 instructional and support staff into the Google collaborative environment that included Google Drive, Education Suite, Gmail, in addition to the integration of interactive technology across the district which included on the largest US deployments of SMART Interactive Panels in over 1400 classrooms. Additionally, United ISD’s Instructional Technology Department is proud of the curriculum-based infusion and integration of more than 30,000 mobile learning devices in the hands of students which has made notable differences in the levels of achievement outperforming other school districts in our region and across the state. These achievements have resulted in over 130 TEA Accountability Distinction Designations district-wide.
