PERRIS UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT (CA)
Candace Reines has served as Deputy Superintendent of Business Services for the Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) for the last two years. Prior to this, she served as Assistant Superintendent of Business Services and Director of Fiscal Services, also in PUHSD. Ms. Reines has worked in the field of school business for 19 years, the last 13 of which were in PUHSD.
Ms. Reines leads a highly effective and successful division made up of Fiscal Services, Purchasing, Risk Management and Safety, Facilities Planning and Construction, Maintenance and Operations, Nutrition Services and Transportation Services. She ensures Business Services supports the district's instructional programs and also creates the conditions for change and for innovation. Ms. Reines also serves as the Public Information Officer for PUHSD.
She is an innovative leader, not just in her formal role in business services, but as an instructional leader she regularly can be found leading professional development for certificated and classified educators, substitute teaching with a focus on technology and school culture, and serves as a showmanship advisor for the FFA. She was an integral part of developing the district’s 1:1 Scholar+ initiative and is passionate about branding and marketing the district. Ms. Reines holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Organizational Studies, both from Azusa Pacific University. She is also a certified Chief Business Official (CBO) through the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO), a Google Certified Educator and holds a substitute teaching credential.
