Brett Yancey is the Chief Operations Officer for Springfield Public Schools. He has 24 years’ experience in managing public school district finance and operations. Prior to accepting his current position in 2002, he served as the Financial Services Supervisor in Roseburg Public Schools, as well as the Business Manager for Scio School District. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Portland State University and an undergraduate, Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Western Oregon University.

Brett has been a member of Oregon Association of School Business Officials throughout his career. He has previously served in the position(s) of Treasurer, President Elect, President, and past president or the organization. As an active member of OASBO he has been involved in their mentor program and has participated as a mentor for five (5) years, as well as provided professional development for members at various meetings and conferences.

In addition to Brett’s service on the OASBO Board, he has previously served on the Oregon Educators Benefit Board (OEBB), responsible for health insurance programs for the majority of public school district employees in the State of Oregon. Currently Brett is in his fifth year as a trustee for the property and casualty insurance Board, which provides liability and property insurance for Oregon school districts.

Brett has been involved in area youth sports for approximately 13 years), served on the Springfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Lane County Community Health Board.

Brett and his wife Crystal reside in Eugene, Oregon and have three children between the ages of 11 – 15.
